עמוד בתורה. אמוץ בלב.
Some fall behind. Some rise above.

To lose one's seder is to lose a piece of one's self
Before Amud Aleph, too many good bachurim spent hours of empty time in the hospital driven to boredom and distraction, when they could still have been furthering their growth and learning.
So many wonderful chesed organizations existed to serve these patients. Yet none could serve the void their sudden lack of seder had brought.
We help bachurim emerge from a difficult experience with gadlus
Even when a person is healthy, learning can be a challenge. But when one is weak or in pain, it can feel almost impossible. And yet, this is what we were brought into this world to do. And what, deep down, a hospitalized bachur's soul yearns to do.
Amud Aleph's mission is to remove all physical and emotional barriers to Torah learning for bachurim who are hospitalized or bedridden. To help them rise above their challenges and find the strength to push themselves further.
We make learning irresistible by attaching it to deep spiritual, social and emotional needs that entertainment can never hope to satisfy.

Founded by R' Yehudah Goldenberg
Rabbi Yehuda Goldenberg is the founder and Rosh Kollel of Be'er Avraham Kollel in Monsey, where he has guided dozens of talmidim. A product of Yeshiva Riverdale, Telz, and Brisk, he spent years as a Rebbe in Lakewood before establishing his kollel. In each setting he has built the kind of relationship with his talmidim that doesn't end when the zman does.
In 2025, one of those talmidim grew critically ill. Rabbi Goldenberg visited him in the hospital and stayed in touch with him over the phone throughout his talmid's challenge. And he watched, up close, what happens to a serious ben Torah when the structure of yeshiva life is suddenly gone. He missed his sedarim, alongside a feeling of belonging, of growing and succeeding, and of a sense that every day mattered.
While many wonderful chessed organizations existed, Rabbi Goldenberg recognized that no one had yet built what this bachur needed: an organization that could stoke this boy's flame of Torah. Thus, Amud Aleph was born.
